2: So was [turned]_H1961 the victory_H8668 day_H3117 that_H1931 into mourning_H0060 for all_H3605 the people,_H5971 for_H3588 heard it_H8085 the people_H5971 day_H3117 that_H1931 said_H0559 is grieved_H6087 the king_H4428 for_H5921 his son._H1121

3: And stole back_H1589 the people_H5971 day_H3117 that_H1931 got_H0935 into the city,_H5892 as_H0834 steal away_H1589 people_H5971 who are ashamed_H3637 when they flee_H5127 in battle._H4421

6: in that you love_H0157 -_H0853 your enemies,_H8130 and hate_H8130 -_H0853 your friends._H0157 For_H3588 you have declared_H5046 today,_H3117 that_H3588 [are] not [important]_H0369 princes_H8269 and servants-_H5650 for_H3588 I perceive,_H3045 today_H3117 that_H3588 if_H3863 Absalom_H0053 had lived,_H2416 and all of us_H3605 today,_H3117 had died_H4191 for_H3588 then_H0227 well_H3477 it would have pleased you well._H5869

7: Therefore now_H6258 arise,_H6965 go out,_H3318 and speak_H1696 upon_H5921 comfort to_H3820 your servants,_H5650 for_H3588 by Yahweh,_H3068 I swear_H7650 if_H3588 not_H0369 you do go out,_H3318 there will_H0518 will stay_H3885 not one_H0376 with you_H0854 [this] night-_H3915 and will be worse_H7451 this_H2063 than all_H3605 the evil_H7451 that_H0834 has befallen_H0935 you_H5921 from your youth_H5271 until_H5704 now._H6258

12: My brothers,_H0251 You [are]_H0859 my bone_H6106 and my flesh._H1320 You [are]_H0859 then why_H4100 are you_H1961 the last_H0314 to bring back_H7725 -_H0853 the king?_H4428

14: So he swayed_H5186 -_H0853 the hearts_H3824 of all_H3605 the men_H0376 of Judah,_H3063 just as [the heart of] man-_H0376 one_H0259 so that they sent [this word]_H7971 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 Return_H7725 you,_H0859 and all_H3605 your servants._H5650

15: And returned,_H7725 the king_H4428 and came_H0935 to_H5704 the Jordan._H3383 And Judah_H3063 came_H0935 to Gilgal,_H1537 to go_H1980 to meet_H7125 the king,_H4428 to escort across_H5674 -_H0853 the king_H4428 -_H0853 the Jordan._H3383

18: And went across_H5674 a ferryboat_H5679 to carry over_H5674 -_H0853 household,_H1004 of the king_H4428 and to do_H6213 what was good._H2896 In his sight_H5869 and Shimei_H8096 son_H1121 of Gera_H1617 fell down_H5307 before_H6440 the king,_H4428 when he had crossed_H5674 the Jordan-_H3383

19: and he said_H0559 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 not_H0408 do let impute_H2803 my lord_H0113 iniquity_H5771 or_H0408 remember_H2142 -_H0853 what_H0834 did wrong_H5753 your servant_H5650 on the day_H3117 that_H0834 left_H3318 my lord_H0113 the king_H4428 Jerusalem_H3389 that should take [it]_H7760 the king_H4428 to_H0413 heart._H3820

20: For_H3588 I know_H3045 your servant_H5650 that_H3588 I_H0589 have sinned-_H2398 therefore here,_H2009 I am to come_H0935 today_H3117 the first_H7223 of all_H3605 the house_H1004 of Joseph_H3130 to go down_H3381 to meet_H7125 my lord_H0113 the king._H4428

21: But answered_H6030 Abishai_H0052 son_H1121 of Zeruiah_H6870 and said,_H0559 shall for_H8478 this,_H2063 not_H3808 be put to death_H4191 Shimei_H8096 because_H3588 he cursed_H7043 -_H0853 anointed?_H4899 of Yahweh._H3068

22: And said,_H0559 David_H1732 what_H4100 you sons_H1121 of Zeruiah,_H6870 that_H3588 you should be_H1961 today_H3117 adversaries_H7854 today_H3117 shall be put to death_H4191 any man_H0376 in Israel?_H3478 for_H3588 do not_H3808 I know_H3045 that_H3588 today_H3117 I [am]_H0589 king_H4428 over_H5921 Israel?_H3478

23: therefore said_H0559 the king_H4428 to_H0413 Shimei,_H8096 not_H3808 You shall die._H4191 And swore_H7650 the king._H4428

24: And Mephibosheth_H4648 the son_H1121 of Saul_H7586 came down_H3381 to meet_H7125 the king,_H4428 and not_H3808 he had cared for_H6213 his feet,_H7272 nor_H3808 trimmed_H6213 his mustache,_H8222 and_H0853 his clothes,_H0899 nor_H3808 washed_H3526 from_H4480 the day_H3117 departed_H1980 the king_H4428 until_H5704 the day_H3117 which_H0834 he returned_H0935 in peace._H7965

25: So it was,_H1961 when_H3588 he had come_H0935 to Jerusalem_H3389 to meet_H7125 the king,_H4428 that said_H0559 the king_H4428 why_H4100 not_H3808 did you go_H1980 with me_H5973 Mephibosheth?_H4648

26: and he answered,_H0559 My lord,_H0113 king,_H4428 my servant_H5650 deceived me_H7411 for_H3588 said,_H0559 your servant_H5650 I will saddle_H2280 a donkey,_H2543 that I may ride_H7392 on it,_H5921 and go_H1980 to_H0854 the king-_H4428 because_H3588 lame_H6455 your servant [is]._H5650

27: And he has slandered_H7270 your servant_H5650 to_H0413 my lord_H0113 the king-_H4428 but my lord_H0113 the king [is]_H4428 like the Angel_H4397 of God,_H0430 therefore do_H6213 [what is] good_H2896 in your eyes._H5869

28: For_H3588 not_H3808 were_H1961 all_H3605 house_H1004 of my father_H0001 for_H3588 but_H0518 men_H0376 dead_H4194 before my lord_H0113 the king-_H4428 and yet you set_H7896 -_H0853 your servant_H5650 among those who eat at_H0398 your own table._H7979 Therefore what_H4100 have_H3426 anymore_H5750 right_H6666 and to cry out_H2199 still_H5750 to_H0413 the king?_H4428

29: so said_H0559 the king_H4428 why_H4100 do you speak_H1696 any more_H5750 of your matters?_H1697 I have said,_H0559 You_H0859 and Ziba_H6717 divide_H2505 -_H0853 the land._H7704

30: And said_H0559 Mephibosheth_H4648 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 Rather,_H1571 -_H0853 it all,_H3605 let him take_H3947 inasmuch_H0310 as_H0834 has come back_H0935 my lord_H0113 the king_H4428 in peace_H7965 to_H0413 his own house._H1004

31: And Barzillai_H1271 the Gileadite_H1569 came down_H3381 from Rogelim_H7274 and went across_H5674 with_H0854 the king,_H4428 the Jordan_H3383 to escort him across_H7971 -_H0853 the Jordan._H3383

32: And Barzillai_H1271 was aged man_H2204 a very_H3966 old-_H1121 eighty_H8084 years_H8141 and he_H1931 had provided with supplies_H3557 -_H0853 the king_H4428 while he stayed_H7871 at Mahanaim-_H4266 for_H3588 a man._H0376 Rich_H1419 he [was]_H1931 very._H3966

33: And said_H0559 the king_H4428 to_H0413 Barzillai,_H1271 You_H0859 come across_H5674 with me_H0854 and I will provide_H3557 for you_H0853 while you are with me_H5978 in Jerusalem._H3389

34: But said_H0559 Barzillai_H1271 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 According to what [are]_H4100 the days of_H3117 the years_H8147 of my life,_H2416 that_H3588 I should go up_H5927 with_H0854 the king_H4428 to Jerusalem?_H3389

35: old._H1121 Eighty_H8084 years_H8141 I [am]_H0595 today_H3117 can I discern_H3045 between_H0996 the good_H2896 and bad?_H7451 can_H0518 can taste_H2938 your servant_H5650 -_H0853 what_H0834 I eat_H0398 or_H0853 what_H0834 I drink?_H8354 can_H0518 can I hear_H8085 any longer_H5750 the voice_H6963 of singing men_H7891 and singing women?_H7891 then why_H4100 should be_H1961 your servant_H5650 further_H5750 a burden_H4853 to_H0413 my lord_H0113 the king?_H4428

36: a little [way]_H4592 will go across_H5674 Your servant_H5650 -_H0853 the Jordan_H3383 with_H0854 the king._H4428 And why_H4100 should repay me_H1580 the king_H4428 reward_H1578 this?_H2063

37: let turn back again,_H7725 please,_H4994 your servant,_H5650 that I may die_H4191 in my own city,_H5892 near_H5973 the grave_H6913 of my father_H0001 and mother._H0517 But here is_H2009 your servant_H5650 Chimham-_H3643 let him cross over_H5674 with_H5973 my lord_H0113 the king-_H4428 and do_H6213 -_H0853 what_H0834 is good_H2896 in your sight._H5869

38: And answered,_H0559 the king_H4428 with me_H0854 shall cross over_H5674 Chimham_H3643 and I_H0589 will do_H6213 -_H0853 what seems good_H2896 in your sight_H5869 now_H3605 whatever_H0834 you request_H0977 of me_H5921 I will do_H6213

39: And went over_H5674 all_H3605 the people_H5971 -_H0853 the Jordan._H3383 And when the king_H4428 had crossed over,_H5674 and kissed_H5401 the king_H4428 Barzillai,_H1271 and blessed him_H1288 and he returned_H7725 to his own place._H4725

40: And went on_H5674 the king_H4428 to Gilgal,_H1537 and Chimham_H3643 went on_H5674 with him_H5973 and all_H3605 the people_H5971 of Judah_H3063 escorted_H5674 -_H0853 the king,_H4428 and also_H1571 half_H2677 the people_H5971 of Israel._H3478

41: And just then,_H2009 all_H3605 the men_H0376 of Israel_H3478 came_H0935 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 and said_H0559 to_H0413 the king,_H4428 why_H4069 have stolen you away,_H1589 our brothers_H0251 the men_H0376 of Judah_H3063 and brought_H5674 -_H0853 the king,_H4428 and_H0853 his household,_H1004 across_H0853 the Jordan?_H3383 and all_H3605 men_H0376 of David_H1732 with him._H5973

42: So answered_H6030 all_H3605 the men_H0376 of Judah_H3063 on_H5921 the men_H0376 of Israel,_H3478 because_H3588 a close [relative]_H7138 the king [is]_H4428 of ours_H0413 then why_H4100 [is] this [that]_H2088 are angry_H2734 over_H5921 matter?_H1697 this_H2088 have ever_H0398 we eaten_H0398 at_H4480 the king's [expense]_H4428 Or_H0518 any_H5379 has he given gift?_H5375

43: And answered_H6030 a man_H0376 of Israel_H3478 -_H0853 the man_H0376 of Judah,_H3063 and said,_H0559 ten_H6235 shares_H3027 in the king,_H4428 therefore also more [right]_H1571 to David_H1732 I [have]_H0589 than you_H4480 then why_H4069 do you despise us_H7043 and not_H3808 were we_H1961 to advise_H1697 the first_H7223 bringing back_H7725 -_H0853 our king?_H4428 and yet were fiercer_H7185 the words_H1697 of the men_H0376 of Judah_H3063 than the words_H1697 of the men_H0376 of Israel._H3478
