2: saying,_G3004 On_G1909 -_G3588 Moses’_G3475 seat_G2515 have sat down_G2523 the_G3588 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 the_G3588 Pharisees._G5330

3: All things_G3956 therefore,_G3767 how many_G3745 if_G1437 they might tell_G2036 you,_G4771 keep_G4160 and_G2532 observe._G5083 After_G2596 however_G1161 the_G3588 works_G2041 of them,_G0846 not_G3361 do._G4160 They speak_G3004 for,_G1063 and_G2532 not_G3756 act._G4160

4: They tie up_G1195 -_G1161 burdens_G5413 heavy_G0926 and_G2532 hard to bear_G1419 and_G2532 lay [them]_G2007 on_G1909 the_G3588 shoulders_G5606 -_G3588 of men;_G0444 themselves_G0846 however,_G1161 with_G3588 finger_G1147 of them,_G0846 not_G3756 are they willing_G2309 to move_G2795 them._G0846

5: All_G3956 now_G1161 the_G3588 deeds_G2041 of them,_G0846 they do_G4160 in order_G4314 -_G3588 to be seen_G2300 -_G3588 by men._G0444 They broaden_G4115 for_G1063 the_G3588 phylacteries_G5440 of them,_G0846 and_G2532 enlarge_G3170 their_G3588 tassels._G2899

6: They love_G5368 now_G1161 the_G3588 chief place_G4411 at_G1722 the_G3588 banquets,_G1173 and_G2532 the_G3588 first seats_G4410 in_G1722 the_G3588 synagogues,_G4864

7: and_G2532 the_G3588 greetings_G0783 in_G1722 the_G3588 marketplaces,_G0058 and_G2532 to be called_G2564 by_G5259 -_G3588 men,_G0444 Rabbi._G4461

8: You_G4771 however_G1161 not_G3361 shall be called_G2564 Rabbi;_G4461 One_G1520 for_G1063 is_G1510 of you_G4771 the_G3588 Teacher,_G1320 all_G3956 now_G1161 you_G4771 brothers_G0080 are._G1510

9: And_G2532 father_G3962 no [one]_G3361 call_G2564 of you_G4771 on_G1909 the_G3588 earth;_G1093 One_G1520 for_G1063 is_G1510 of you_G4771 the_G3588 Father,_G3962 who [is]_G3588 in heaven._G3770

10: Neither_G3366 be called_G2564 instructors,_G2519 since_G3754 [the] instructor_G2519 of you_G4771 is_G1510 One,_G1520 the_G3588 Christ._G5547

11: -_G3588 And_G1161 the greatest_G3173 among you_G4771 will be_G1510 your_G4771 servant._G1249

12: He who_G3748 then_G1161 shall exalt_G5312 himself_G1438 will be humbled,_G5013 and_G2532 whoever_G3748 shall humble_G5013 himself_G1438 will be exalted._G5312

13: Woe_G3759 however_G1161 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you shut up_G2808 the_G3588 kingdom_G0932 of the_G3588 heavens_G3772 before_G1715 -_G3588 men;_G0444 You_G4771 for_G1063 neither_G3756 enter,_G1525 nor even_G3761 those who_G3588 are entering_G1525 do you allow_G0863 to go in._G1525

14: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites,_G5273 for_G3754 you devour_G2719 the_G3588 houses_G3614 -_G3588 of widows,_G5503 and_G2532 as a pretext_G4392 at great length_G3117 are praying;_G4336 Because of_G1223 this_G3778 you shall receive_G2983 greater_G4053 condemnation._G2917

15: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you traverse_G4013 the_G3588 sea_G2281 and_G2532 the_G3588 dry [land]_G3584 to make_G4160 one_G1520 convert,_G4339 and_G2532 when_G3752 he has become [so],_G1096 you make_G4160 him_G0846 a son_G5207 of hell_G1067 twofold more_G1362 than yourselves._G4771

16: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 guides_G3595 blind,_G5185 those_G3588 saying,_G3004 Whoever_G3739 -_G0302 shall swear_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 temple,_G3485 nothing_G3762 it is;_G1510 whoever_G3739 however_G1161 -_G0302 shall swear_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 gold_G5557 of the_G3588 temple_G3485 is bound by his oath._G3784

17: Foolish_G3474 and_G2532 blind!_G5185 Which_G5101 for_G1063 greater_G3173 is,_G1510 the_G3588 gold,_G5557 or_G2228 the_G3588 temple_G3485 -_G3588 having sanctified_G0037 the_G3588 gold?_G5557

18: And [you say],_G2532 Whoever_G3739 -_G0302 shall swear_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 altar,_G2379 nothing_G3762 it is;_G1510 whoever_G3739 however_G1161 -_G0302 shall swear_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 gift_G1435 that [is]_G3588 upon_G1883 it,_G0846 he is bound by his oath._G3784

19: You blind men!_G5185 Which_G5101 for_G1063 [is] greater,_G3173 the_G3588 gift,_G1435 or_G2228 the_G3588 altar_G2379 -_G3588 sanctifying_G0037 the_G3588 gift?_G1435

20: The [one]_G3588 therefore_G3767 having sworn_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 altar_G2379 swears_G3660 by_G1722 it_G0846 and_G2532 by_G1722 all things_G3956 that [are]_G3588 upon_G1883 it._G0846

21: And_G2532 the [one]_G3588 having sworn_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 temple_G3485 swears_G3660 by_G1722 it_G0846 and_G2532 by_G1722 the [One]_G3588 dwelling_G2730 in it._G0846

22: And_G2532 the [one]_G3588 having sworn_G3660 by_G1722 -_G3588 heaven_G3772 swears_G3660 by_G1722 the_G3588 throne_G2362 -_G3588 of God_G2316 and_G2532 by_G1722 the [One]_G3588 sitting_G2521 upon_G1883 it._G0846

23: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you pay tithes of_G0586 -_G3588 mint,_G2238 and_G2532 -_G3588 dill,_G0432 and_G2532 -_G3588 cumin;_G2951 and_G2532 you have neglected_G0863 the_G3588 weightier [matters]_G0926 of the_G3588 law:_G3551 -_G3588 justice_G2920 and_G2532 -_G3588 mercy_G1656 and_G2532 -_G3588 faithfulness._G4102 These_G3778 now_G1161 it behooved you_G1163 to do,_G4160 those_G2548 not_G3361 to be leaving aside._G0863

24: Guides_G3595 blind!_G5185 Those_G3588 straining out_G1368 the_G3588 gnat,_G2971 the_G3588 however_G1161 camel_G2574 swallowing!_G2666

25: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you cleanse_G2511 the_G3588 outside_G1855 of the_G3588 cup_G4221 and_G2532 of the_G3588 dish;_G3953 inside,_G2081 however,_G1161 they are full_G1073 of_G1537 greed_G0724 and_G2532 self-indulgence._G0192

26: Pharisee_G5330 blind!_G5185 Cleanse_G2511 first_G4412 the_G3588 inside_G1787 of the_G3588 cup_G4221 and_G2532 of the_G3588 dish_G3953 that_G2443 might become_G1096 also_G2532 the_G3588 outside_G1622 of them_G0846 clean._G2513

27: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you are like_G3945 tombs_G5028 having been whitewashed,_G2867 which_G3748 outwardly_G1855 indeed_G3303 appear_G5316 beautiful._G5611 Inside_G2081 however_G1161 they are full_G1073 of bones_G3747 of [the] dead,_G3498 and_G2532 of all_G3956 impurity._G0167

28: Thus_G3779 also,_G2532 you_G4771 outwardly_G1855 indeed_G3303 appear_G5316 -_G3588 to men_G0444 righteous,_G1342 inwardly_G2081 however_G1161 you are_G1510 full_G3324 of hypocrisy_G5272 and_G2532 lawlessness._G0458

29: Woe_G3759 to you,_G4771 scribes_G1122 and_G2532 Pharisees,_G5330 hypocrites!_G5273 For_G3754 you build_G3618 the_G3588 tombs_G5028 of the_G3588 prophets_G4396 and_G2532 adorn_G2885 the_G3588 monuments_G3419 of the_G3588 righteous;_G1342

30: and_G2532 you say,_G3004 If_G1487 we had lived_G1510 in_G1722 the_G3588 days_G2250 of the_G3588 fathers_G3962 of us,_G1473 not_G3756 -_G0302 we would have been_G1510 with them_G0846 partakers_G2844 in_G1722 the_G3588 blood_G0129 of the_G3588 prophets._G4396

31: Thus_G5620 you bear witness_G3140 to yourselves_G1438 that_G3754 sons_G5207 you are_G1510 of those_G3588 having murdered_G5407 the_G3588 prophets._G4396

32: And_G2532 you,_G4771 fill up_G4137 the_G3588 measure_G3358 of the_G3588 fathers_G3962 of you._G4771

33: Serpents!_G3789 Offspring_G1081 of vipers!_G2191 How_G4459 shall you escape_G5343 from_G0575 the_G3588 sentence_G2920 -_G3588 of hell?_G1067

34: Because of_G1223 this,_G3778 behold,_G2400 I_G1473 send_G0649 to_G4314 you_G4771 prophets_G4396 and_G2532 wise [men]_G4680 and_G2532 scribes._G1122 Some of_G1537 them_G0846 you will kill_G0615 and_G2532 will crucify,_G4717 and [some]_G2532 of_G1537 them_G0846 you will flog_G3146 in_G1722 the_G3588 synagogues_G4864 of you,_G4771 and_G2532 will persecute_G1377 from_G0575 town_G4172 to_G1519 town;_G4172

35: so that_G3704 shall come_G2064 upon_G1909 you_G4771 all [the]_G3956 blood_G0129 righteous_G1342 being poured out_G1632 upon_G1909 the_G3588 earth,_G1093 from_G0575 the_G3588 blood_G0129 of Abel_G0006 the_G3588 righteous,_G1342 to_G2193 the_G3588 blood_G0129 of Zechariah_G2197 son_G5207 of Berekiah,_G0914 whom_G3739 you murdered_G5407 between_G3342 the_G3588 temple_G3485 and_G2532 the_G3588 altar._G2379

36: Truly_G0281 I say_G3004 to you,_G4771 will come_G2240 these things_G3778 all_G3956 upon_G1909 the_G3588 generation_G1074 this._G3778

37: Jerusalem,_G2419 Jerusalem,_G2419 -_G3588 killing_G0615 the_G3588 prophets_G4396 and_G2532 stoning_G3036 those_G3588 having been sent_G0649 to_G4314 her!_G0846 How often_G4212 would I_G2309 have gathered together_G1996 the_G3588 children_G5043 of you,_G4771 in which_G3739 way_G5158 a hen_G3733 gathers together_G1996 the_G3588 chicks_G3556 of her_G0846 under_G5259 the_G3588 wings,_G4420 and_G2532 not_G3756 you were willing!_G2309

38: Behold,_G2400 is left_G0863 to you_G4771 the_G3588 house_G3624 of you_G4771 desolate!_G2048

39: I say_G3004 for_G1063 to you,_G4771 no_G3756 not_G3361 Me_G1473 shall you see_G3708 from_G0575 now_G0737 until_G2193 -_G0302 you say,_G2036 Blessed [is]_G2127 the [One]_G3588 coming_G2064 in [the]_G1722 name_G3686 of [the] Lord._G2962
