8: And he said,_H0559 that_H0335 which_H2088 way_H1870 shall we go up?_H5927 and he answered,_H0559 by the way_H1870 of Wilderness_H4057 of Edom._H0123

9: So went with,_H1980 the king_H4428 of Israel_H3478 and the king_H4428 of Judah,_H3063 and the king_H4428 of Edom-_H0123 and they marched on that roundabout_H5437 route,_H1870 seven_H7651 days_H3117 and no_H3808 there was_H1961 water_H4325 for the army,_H4264 nor for the animals_H0929 that_H0834 followed them._H7272

10: And said,_H0559 the king_H4428 of Israel_H3478 Alas!_H0162 for_H3588 has called together_H7121 Yahweh_H3069 three_H7969 kings_H4428 these_H0428 to deliver_H5414 them_H0853 into the hand_H3027 of Moab!_H4124

11: but said,_H0559 Jehoshaphat_H3092 [is there] no_H0369 here_H6311 prophet_H5030 of Yahweh,_H3068 that we may inquire_H1875 of_H0853 Yahweh_H3068 by him_H0854 so answered_H6030 one_H0259 of the servants_H5650 of the king_H4428 of Israel_H3478 and said,_H0559 here_H6311 Elisha [is]_H0477 son_H1121 of Shaphat,_H8202 who_H0834 poured_H3332 water_H4325 on_H5921 the hands_H3027 of Elijah._H0452

12: And said,_H0559 Jehoshaphat_H3092 is_H3426 with him_H0854 the word_H1697 of Yahweh_H3068 so went down_H3381 to him_H0413 the king_H4428 of Israel_H3478 and Jehoshaphat_H3092 and the king_H4428 of Edom._H0123

13: And said_H0559 Elisha_H0477 to_H0413 the king_H4428 of Israel,_H3478 what have to do_H4100 go_H1980 to_H0413 the prophets_H5030 of your father,_H0001 and_H0413 the prophets_H5030 of your mother._H0517 But said_H0559 the king_H4428 of Israel_H3478 No,_H0408 for_H3588 has called [together]_H7121 Yahweh_H3068 three_H7969 kings_H4428 these_H0428 to deliver_H5414 them_H0853 into the hand_H3027 of Moab._H4124

14: And said,_H0559 Elisha_H0477 [As] lives,_H2416 Yahweh_H3068 of hosts_H6635 whom_H0834 I stand,_H5975 before_H6440 surely,_H3588 were it not_H3884 the presence_H6440 of Jehoshaphat_H3092 king_H4428 of Judah,_H3063 I_H0589 that regard_H5375 nor_H0518 I would not look_H5027 at you_H0413 nor_H0518 see you._H7200

15: But now_H6258 bring_H3947 a musician._H5059 And it came to pass,_H1961 when played_H5059 the musician,_H5059 that came_H1961 upon him_H5921 the hand_H3027 of Yahweh._H3068

16: And he said,_H0559 thus_H3541 says_H0559 Yahweh,_H3068 Make_H6213 valley_H5158 this_H2088 full_H1356 full of ditches._H1356

17: For_H3588 thus_H3541 says_H0559 Yahweh,_H3068 not_H3808 You shall see_H7200 wind,_H7307 nor_H3808 shall you see_H7200 rain-_H1653 and yet valley_H5158 that_H1931 shall be filled_H4390 with water,_H4325 so that may drink,_H8354 you,_H0859 and your cattle,_H4735 and your animals._H0929

18: And is a simple matter_H7043 this_H2063 in the sight_H5869 of Yahweh-_H3068 and He will deliver_H5414 -_H0853 the Moabites_H4124 into your hand._H3027

19: And you shall attack_H5221 every_H3605 city,_H5892 fortified_H4013 and every_H3605 city,_H5892 choice_H4004 and every_H3605 tree,_H6086 good_H2896 shall cut down_H5307 and every_H3605 spring_H4599 of water,_H4325 stop up_H5640 and every_H3605 piece of land_H2513 good_H2896 ruin_H3510 with stones._H0068

20: And it came to pass_H1961 in the morning,_H1242 when was offered,_H5927 the grain offering_H4503 that suddenly,_H2009 water_H4325 came_H0935 by way_H1870 of Edom,_H0123 and was filled_H4390 the land_H0776 with_H0854 water._H4325

21: And when all_H3605 the Moabites_H4124 heard_H8085 that_H3588 had come up_H5927 the kings_H4428 to fight_H3898 and were gathered_H6817 all_H3605 who were able to bear_H2296 arms,_H2290 and older,_H4605 and they stood_H5975 at_H5921 the border._H1366

23: And they said,_H0559 blood-_H1818 this [is]_H2088 surely_H2717 have struck swords,_H2717 the kings_H4428 and have killed_H5221 one_H0376 -_H0853 another_H7453 therefore now_H6258 to the spoil._H7998 Moab,_H4124

24: so when they came_H0935 to_H0413 the camp_H4264 of Israel,_H3478 and rose up_H6965 Israel_H3478 and attacked_H5221 -_H0853 the Moabites,_H4124 so that they fled_H5127 before them_H6440 and they entered [their] land_H0935 they went_H5221 and killing_H5221 -_H0853 the Moabites,_H4124

25: and the cities,_H5892 they destroyed_H2040 and on every_H3605 piece of land_H2513 good_H2896 threw_H7993 each man_H0376 a stone,_H0068 and filled it_H4390 and all_H3605 the springs_H4599 of water,_H4325 they stopped up_H5640 and all_H3605 the trees,_H6086 good_H2896 cut down_H5307 but_H5704 they left [intact]_H7604 the stones_H0068 of Kir Haraseth_H7025 and However surrounded_H5437 the slingers_H7051 and attacked it._H5221

26: And when saw_H7200 the king_H4428 of Moab_H4124 that_H3588 was too fierce_H2388 for him_H4480 the battle_H4421 and he took_H3947 with him_H0854 seven_H7651 hundred_H3967 men_H0376 who drew_H8025 swords,_H2719 to break through_H1234 to_H0413 the king_H4428 of Edom-_H0123 but not_H3808 they could._H3201

27: And he took_H3947 -_H0853 his son_H1121 eldest_H1060 who_H0834 would have reigned_H4427 in his place,_H8478 and offered him_H5927 [as] a burnt offering_H5930 upon_H5921 the wall._H2346 And there was_H1961 indignation_H7110 great_H1419 against_H5921 Israel,_H3478 so they departed_H5265 from him_H5921 and returned_H7725 to [their own] land._H0776
