1: And went down_H3381 Samson_H8123 to Timnah,_H8553 and saw_H7200 a woman_H0802 in Timnah_H8553 of the daughters_H1323 of the Philistines._H6430

2: So he went up,_H5927 and told_H5046 his father_H0001 and mother,_H0517 and saying,_H0559 a woman_H0802 I have seen_H7200 in Timnah_H8553 of the daughters_H1323 of the Philistines-_H6430 therefore now_H6258 get_H3947 her_H0853 as a wife._H0802

3: And said_H0559 his father_H0001 and mother_H0517 [is there] no_H0369 among the daughters_H1323 of your brothers,_H0251 or among all_H3605 my people,_H5971 woman_H0802 that_H3588 you_H0859 must go_H1980 and get_H3947 a wife_H0802 from Philistines_H6430 the uncircumcised_H6189 and said_H0559 Samson_H8123 to_H0413 his father,_H0001 her_H0853 Get_H3947 for_H3588 she_H1931 pleases well_H3474 me._H5869

4: But his father_H0001 and mother_H0517 not_H3808 did know_H3045 that_H3588 of Yahweh_H3068 it [was]_H1931 that_H3588 an occasion to move_H8385 He_H1931 was seeking_H1245 against the Philistines_H6430 for time_H6256 that_H1931 the Philistines_H6430 had dominion_H4910 over Israel._H3478

5: So went down_H3381 Samson_H8123 and with his father_H0001 and mother,_H0517 to Timnah,_H8553 and came_H0935 to_H5704 the vineyards_H3754 of Timnah-_H8553 and [to his] surprise,_H2009 a young_H3715 lion_H0738 [came] roaring_H7580 against him._H7125

6: And came mightily_H6743 upon him_H5921 the Spirit_H7307 of Yahweh_H3068 and he tore the lion apart_H8156 as one would have torn apart_H8156 a young goat,_H1423 and though_H3972 [he had] nothing_H0369 in his hand-_H3027 but not_H3808 he did tell_H5046 his father_H0001 or his mother_H0517 -_H0853 what_H0834 he had done._H6213

7: And he went down,_H3381 and talked_H1696 with the woman-_H0802 and she pleased well_H3474 eye_H5869 Samson._H8123

8: And when he returned_H7725 after some time_H3117 to get her_H3947 and he turned aside_H5493 to see_H7200 -_H0853 the carcass_H4658 of the lion-_H0738 and behold,_H2009 a swarm_H5712 of bees [were]_H1682 in the carcass_H1472 of the lion_H0738 and honey._H1706

9: And He took some of it_H7287 in_H0413 his hands,_H3709 and went_H1980 along_H1980 and eating,_H0398 and when he came_H1980 to_H0413 his father_H0001 and_H0413 mother,_H0517 and he gave [some]_H5414 and they ate-_H0398 but not_H3808 he did tell_H5046 that_H3588 out of the carcass_H1472 of the lion_H0738 he had taken_H7287 the honey._H1706

10: So went down_H3381 his father_H0001 to_H0413 the woman-_H0802 and gave_H6213 there_H8033 Samson_H8123 a feast-_H4960 for_H3588 so_H3651 used to do_H6213 young men._H0970

11: And it came to pass,_H1961 when they saw_H7200 him_H0853 that they brought_H3947 thirty_H7970 companions_H4828 and to be_H1961 with him._H0854

12: And said_H0559 Samson_H8123 let me pose_H2330 I pray_H4994 a riddle_H2420 if_H0518 correctly_H5046 you can solve and explain_H5046 it_H0853 [within the] seven_H7651 days_H3117 of the feast,_H4960 and,_H4672 then I will give_H5414 thirty_H7970 linen garments_H5466 and thirty_H7970 changes_H2487 of clothing._H0899

13: But if_H0518 cannot_H3808 you explain [it]_H3201 to me_H5046 then shall give_H5414 you_H0859 thirty_H7970 linen garments_H5466 and thirty_H7970 changes_H2487 of clothing._H0899 And they said_H0559 Pose_H2330 your riddle,_H2420 that we may hear it._H8085

14: So he said_H0559 Out of the eater_H0398 came_H3318 something to eat,_H3978 and out of the strong_H5794 came_H3318 something sweet._H4966 And not_H3808 they could_H3201 explain_H5046 the riddle_H2420 three_H7969 for days._H3117

15: But it came to pass_H1961 on the day,_H3117 seventh_H7637 that they said_H0559 to wife,_H0802 of Samson_H8123 Entice_H6601 -_H0853 your husband,_H0376 that he may explain_H5046 -_H0853 the riddle,_H2420 or else_H6435 we will burn_H8313 you_H0853 and_H0853 house_H1004 your father's_H0001 with fire._H0784 Have in order to take what is ours?_H3423 you invited_H7121 [is that] not [so]._H3808

16: And wept_H1058 wife_H0802 of Samson_H8123 on him_H5921 and said,_H0559 only_H7535 You hate me_H8130 and not-_H3808 You do love me_H0157 a riddle_H2420 You have posed_H2330 to the sons_H1121 of my people,_H5971 not_H3808 you have explained [it]_H5046 and he said_H0559 Look,_H2009 to my father_H0001 or my mother,_H0517 not_H3808 I have explained [it]_H5046 should I explain [it]._H5046

17: And she had wept_H1058 on him_H5921 seven_H7651 the days,_H3117 while_H0834 lasted._H1961 feast_H4960 and it came to pass_H1961 on the day,_H3117 seventh_H7637 that he told_H5046 because_H3588 she pressed him so much_H6693 and she explained_H5046 the riddle_H2420 to the sons_H1121 of her people._H5971

18: So said_H0559 the men_H0376 of the city_H5892 on the day_H3117 seventh_H7637 before_H2962 went down,_H0935 the sun_H2775 what [is]_H4100 sweeter_H4966 than honey?_H1706 and what [is]_H4100 stronger_H5794 than a lion?_H0738 and he said_H0559 if not_H3884 you had plowed_H2790 with my heifer,_H5697 not_H3808 You would have solved_H4672 my riddle._H2420

19: And came mightily_H6743 upon him_H5921 the Spirit_H7307 of Yahweh_H3068 and he went down_H3381 to Ashkelon,_H0831 and killed_H5221 of their_H1992 thirty_H7970 men_H0376 and took_H3947 -_H0853 their apparel,_H2488 and gave_H5414 the changes [of clothing]_H2487 to those who had explained_H5046 the riddle._H2420 So was aroused,_H2734 his anger_H0639 and he went back up_H5927 house_H1004 of to his father._H0001

20: And was [given]_H1961 wife_H0802 of Samson_H8123 to his companion,_H4828 who_H0834 had been best man_H7462
